I got my Sugar Paste! Now what?

I got my Sugar Paste! Now what?

Learning how to sugar can be just as frustrating as it is fun. I will guide you through the steps, but it will be up to you to practice your new skill to achieve beautiful smooth skin.

Let's get started!

1 - Start with clean dry skin. Cleanse your skin with the Quick Cleanse by applying it to a cotton round or 4x4 non-woven esthetic pads.
    • The sugaring paste works best on clean skin. If there is any make up or oil left behind, the sugar won't pick up any hair.
2- Sprinkle the drying powder on the area to be treated.
    • Just a light sprinkle will do. You want to make sure there isn't any moisture on the skin before applying the sugar or it will just slide on the skin.
3 - Heat up your paste if needed.
    • Your paste should be soft enough to use but firm enough to handle.
    • Your paste should NOT be hot! If the paste is too hot it will burn your skin so, please check it before you handle it.
    • You can place your sugar paste in the microwave with a loose lid and heat it for about 15 seconds.
4 - Scoop out the Sugar Paste with your application card.
    • You can easily apply your sugaring paste to the desired area with your application card. The amount of paste you scoop out will depend on the size of the area to be sugared. You will only need a small amount to learn the technique and will be able to gauge how much you will need per area as you learn.
5 - Spread evenly on the desired area opposite of the hair growth allowing it to seep into the skin. Repeat this 3 times.
    • Molding the sugar paste into the hair follicle will allow the sugar paste to wrap around the hair. You want to do this at least 3 times for best results.
6 - Hold your skin tight.
    • Use you supporting hand to keep your skin tight in the treated area while you flick.
    • If your skin isn't held tight when you flick, then you can cause bruising or skin irritation.
7 - Quickly flick the paste off of the skin using the application card from the edge of your paste in the direction of the hair growth.
    • After your last mold, make sure you get to the edge of your sugar paste.
    • slightly lift your application card off the skin and quickly flick the card parallel to the skin.
8 - Using the same paste, you can repeat steps 4-5 until all the hair is removed from the treated area.
    • It's always best to mold your sugar well before you flick to get the most out of your flick.
    • You may go over the same area multiple times although you still can overwork the skin, so I do recommend to mold more and flick less.
    • You can however make your sugar too soft if you mold the paste too many times so if you get stuck you can read How to get Unstuck.

9 - Apply moisturizer to soothe the treated area when
    finished.

10 - The Sugar Paste is water soluble so it will be an easy clean up! Just wipe any mess down with warm water. Make sure you clean and save your application cards as they are reusable.
